This sale is for a large old Hummel Madonna and child figurine, stamped Germany with a Bee mark that dates it from 1950 to 1955. It also has an incised number of 10/1. The figure stands 9 1/2 inches high. It shows Mary holding a flower with a book on her lap. The child and a bird are on the book. There is a very tiny flake on the tip of the halo around Mary's head. Larger Old TMK 1 Full Incised Crown Hummel 10/1 "Flower Madonna"; 9"This old full incised crown (1934-1950) Hummel is a special find. The "Flower Madonna" is dressed in a gorgeous blue cloak with a flower pattern. She has a book on her lap and is showing a child (Jesus?) a flower. A songbird is singing on the book. All of these delicate features are in perfect condition. This version of the Flower Madonna has a full incised crown stamp on the underside. This is the oldest Hummel/Goebel trademark. This version of the Madonna also has the unusual open halo. This was later replaced with a flat disc halo as seen in most versions.Her colors are vivid as is common with most older full incised crown and full bee Hummels.She is a larger size than most Flower Madonnas (9" tall).TMK 1 (Full incised crown): 1934-1950. This is the oldest Hummel trademark preceding the full bee stamp. The crown is incised into the mold and not stamped as in later versions. After the second world war, other stamps may have been included like the full bee, US Zone, or Western Germany. Mold number: 10/19" tallWonderful vintage condition; especially considering its age.
